Understanding Doshas: Vata, Pitta & Kapha Explained

Introduction:
Your body is unique, and Ayurveda acknowledges this through the concept of Doshas—biological energies that govern all physical and mental processes.

What are the Three Doshas?

  1. Vata (Air + Ether)

  • Qualities: Dry, light, cold, mobile

  • Controls: Movement, circulation, breathing

  • Imbalance signs: Anxiety, constipation, dry skin

  1. Pitta (Fire + Water)

  • Qualities: Hot, intense, sharp

  • Controls: Digestion, metabolism, body temperature

How to Balance Your Dosha:

  • Vata: Eat warm, moist foods; do grounding yoga

  • Pitta: Stay cool, avoid spicy food; meditate

  • Kapha: Be active, avoid dairy and oily foods
